Budgeting to Make Your Travel Dreams More Affordable

Trying to set a budget for anything in life can be difficult. When it comes to traveling, though, having a budget set gives you a great reward at the end. Over the past several years, more people are beginning to understand the benefits of enjoying experiences rather than things. This is where travel comes in to play. Below are some tips to help you budget for a great travel experience and make your dreams of traveling more doable. Brought to you by our sponsors who operate towing Atlanta Ga!

Create a monthly goal: when you have a big dream to travel, it helps to break that dream down into smaller increments. Many travel agencies will allow you to create a payment plan. This will require a deposit initially, then make automatic payments towards your remaining cost every month.

Plan ahead of time: the further you book your trip in advance, the small your bills will be. Though this seems like an obvious thing, it can be hard to plan ahead if you are spontaneous by nature. We recommend that you try to decide on your dream trip at least a year in advance, then reserve your spot and begin budgeting. While you’re waiting for your dream vacation, you can enjoy weekends away or pretend to be a tourist in an area around where you live.

Travel in the off-season: this is a great time to travel because prices are lower and there are fewer crowds. Off-season travel is one of my favorite things to do because I can always find a great deal.

Create a budget that is part of your routine: create a reward system for yourself to help you budget for your travels. Perhaps every time you workout, you can put five dollars in your piggy bank for traveling. This will help you not only carve out more time for something you enjoy our need to do, but it will help you stack your savings.

Be money savvy: if you are taking a tour while traveling, create a budget for the amount of money you plan to spend while on your trip. It may help to set up a daily budget. If you have money left over after your travels, simply start another travel fund for the future.

What to Know Before Going on a Safari

Are you considering taking a safari across Africa? If it is something you have ever considered, you should certainly do it. It is a thrilling adventure you will never forget with remarkable wildlife and beautiful scenery to experience and enjoy. Below are some pointers to help you make preparations for traveling across the African safari.

Minimize luggage: surprisingly, I was able to take a 12 day safari with nothing but my carry on bag. I have lost my bags that airlines too often, so I wanted to try something different. The key is to find the right bag and bring only what you need. For me, on my 12 day trek, I brought three pairs of pants and 12 T-shirts. I also packed one pair of shoes and appear sandals. One tip for minimizing is to list everything you wish to bring on your trip them cut that list in half. Since Africa is a warm weather destination, you can pack lightweight clothing that will take up less space. This is what my friends do who provide plumbing service in Smyrna every time they go on one of these.

Remember bug spray: insect repellent is as valuable as gold on the African Safari. If you have bags to check, you can bring full-sized cans. If you are only taking a carry-on bag, try bringing repellent wipes. There are some bug spray cans that are travel sized, but you will have to store them in bags for liquids. This means you will be limited on how many you can take.

Don’t forget the camera and lens: as you drive across the African Safari, you will need to have a camera that is fast to get the best nature shots. Sure, you can attempt to use your smart phone camera, but if you want to get beautiful landscapes and panoramas, it’s best to use a telephoto lens. If you don’t own one, consider renting a camera with a long-range lens.

Plan to be unplugged: while on the Safari, there will be many places where you will not have a Wi-Fi connection, or those connections will be weak. This is actually a great thing because it gives you the chance to disconnect from your electronics and so again everything Safari has to offer.

Prepare for an adventure: going on African Safari is a wonderful experience. The memories you make on the African Safari will last you a lifetime, whether you dance with the Maasai people, see a leopard haul it’s prey up into a tree, or enjoy the sunset over the Serengeti plains. It’s hard to describe the feeling of being on the African Safari, but once you make it there, you will understand what I am saying.

Staying Connected when Traveling Internationally

One of the hardest parts about traveling is being disconnected from those still at home. Likely, with a smart phone in hand, it’s become easier than ever. Below are some things that will help you stay connected while you are traveling internationally.

Get international plan: most major phone carriers have some kind of international phone plan. If you travel internationally often, you may want to consider a long-term international plan. Otherwise, you can choose a package based on how long your trip will be or for a certain amount of minutes. Each provider provides different options, so talking with your provider is the best way to discover what you should choose. This is what my friend who owns a roof installation company in Lilburn did and it served him well on his trip.

Stack up the data: data is likely the most important part of having a smart phone when traveling internationally. It gives you quick access to Google maps and allows you to review restaurant ratings when you are unable to connect to Wi-Fi.

Smart phones make dialing internationally easy: that every country has an entrance and exit code, when you have a smart phone, the exit code is not needed. You simply dial + and then the entrance code of the country being called before entering the phone number. In countries located in North America, the entrance code is one.

Use airplane mode: if you desire to use your smart phone while avoiding roaming charges, and you don’t have a plan that includes international calls, no problem. Go to the settings in your smart phone and turn on airplane mode. You will not be able to send or receive calls without charge, but this will allow you to connect to Wi-Fi and use some other applications to connect with your friends and family.

Traveling internationally doesn’t mean you can’t stay connected with friends and family. By following the simple tips above, you can use your smart phone internationally to keep in touch with those you love.

Dealing with a Delayed Flight

Dealing with a delayed or canceled flight while on vacation is never ideal, but it does happen every once in a while. When your flight is delayed or canceled, it is important that you keep a positive attitude.

You will need to directly work with your airline to figure out the options available to you. Is the airline’s responsibility to get your flight rebooked. If you have a tour booked on your vacation, let the airline know that you need to arrive to your location in a timely manner. This is especially what our sponsors do over at immigration Attorney Gwinnett!

If you are in that unfortunate that UA should wear your flight has been canceled are delayed, there are some things you can do to make the most of your extra time.

Relax: use the extra time to help you relax before you get on your next flight. Look for an area in the airport where you can stretch out and breathe deeply. A few airports even offer yoga rooms where dedicated travelers can get away from the noise and crowds.

Take a walk: there’s a chance that you have been sitting a long while, especially if have been traveling internationally. Take advantage of your time off the airplane to walk around the terminal and get the blood flowing again.

Enjoy a game: take a deck of cards or a travel size game in your carry-on to enjoy when you have extra time on your hands. If your space is limited in your carry on, download some games on your smart phone to enjoy.

Recharge everything: most airports these days have stations where you can charge your phone, tablet, or laptop. Once your device is charged, you can watch movies or listen to music using the Wi-Fi provided by the airport.

Regardless of what you decide to do, don’t stress. Instead, take advantage of the extra time to do something you would not ordinarily be able to do.
